The Bengtsfors power station, located on Lake Lelång, was built in 1895 and has since then contributed to supplying the community with electricity. Sometimes water is released through the sluice gates as we see in the picture. Impressive in the middle of Bengtsfors. The power station has been owned by Mälarenergi since 2015 and has been modernized in stages to improve efficiency. Soon two new turbines will be built in the building in the background of the picture.

Bäckefors bruk, located in the southern part of the Bengtsfors municipality, was once one of Sweden's most modern ironworks. The Lancashire method for iron production was introduced here, revolutionizing the Swedish iron industry. The ironworks had its heyday in the 19th century but was shut down at the end of the same century. Today, you can visit the ruins of the old forges. It is a place filled with history and natural beauty, perfect for an outing at any time of the year.

M/S Storholmen was built in 1896 and has been operating on the Dalslands Canal since 1938.

This turn-of-the-century boat offers a charming journey through the canal, where passengers can enjoy the beautiful nature and historic surroundings. The boat has room for 100 passengers and offers both outdoor seating and a restaurant on the lower deck.

The Bengtsfors lock station is part of the Dalsland canal and consists of a double lock with a level difference of 3.5 meters. The locks connect the lakes Bengtsbrohöljen and Lelången and are a popular spot for visitors. This double lock is one of the most charming and well-visited spots along the canal.
